Metro Line 3 is the longest section of the mega-project of the new metro network in the capital of Saudi Arabia. It consists of 22 stations (including the iconic downtown station and west station), 2 depots and 6 park & ride stations. Line 3 runs from west (nearJeddah highway) to east (near Khashm El-Aam National Guard camp).
Riyadh Metro project is the backbone of the public transportation system in capital Riyadh, and it is also the largest and the most luxurious public transportation system in the world currently under development.
Therefore, in the design scheme of metro, space theme is adopted. The overall appearance of the metro station will remind people of the distinctive shape of the wind, sand and waves in this country, which can be described as originality. Under the unique appearance of the metro station, it also has practical functions, which can advantageously block the strong desert sunlight while retaining light.
Customized
Winsom provided 3mm perforated aluminum panels for Riyadh Metro Line 3, which mainly applying to the facades of ground subway metro stations. Based on factors such as the intensity and angle of the local solar radiation in Riyadh, Winsom technical team provided the project with perforated aluminum panel, and each panel is made up of 6 circular holes with different apertures in an irregular arrangement, the smallest aperture is 12mm, the maximum aperture is 124mm.
At the same time, Winsom technical team carefully considered the installation details of the perforated aluminum panel, and provided it with a design of hidden stiffeners, which can not only meet the requirements of perforated pattern modeling and wind load requirements, but also avoid the appearance of exposed stiffeners. The problem can be said to serve multiple purposes.
