On 30th March, the terminal area of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport was officially completed and accepted.
At the evening, a lighting ceremony and fireworks party was held at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.
Terminal 1&2, the outline of two “Sun Birds” along with lighting up and spreading out, sparkling in the night, the colorful fireworks burst into sky and lights up sky at the same time, let the "Sun Bird" more dazzling in the night.
After three years and ten months, millions of people worked day and night, finally welcomed Sun Birds spread its wings.
Chengdu will keep in step with Beijing and Shanghai, which will become the third city in mainland of China that have dual international hub airports.
The terminal of Tianfu Airport design is integrated into Sichuan provinces’ geological characteristic, Sun Birds adopt with the characteristic of Chengdu. The terminal likes a bird carrying the sun, implying that Chengdu new airport take off to the world with its confidence attitude.
The terminal structure adopts with “hand-in-hand unit”, that is the first one in domestic. The walking time is shortly from security check to departure gate in this structure, it’s more convenient and save time for passengers. The building shape is magnificent and smooth with modern style, full of technology and intelligence, which makes Chengdu international airport flexible and elegant just like Sun Bird.

The terminal building is the first structure with hand-in-hand unit in China, it’s the first airport that one-time build two terminals.
